From Cape Town:
Follow the N1 (north). At +/- 10 km before Paarl take Exit 47. Turn left onto the R44 in direction of Wellington. After 6.2 km turn right onto the Suid-Agter Paarl Road. The Alpaca Loom is on your left after 2.2 km.
Entry Fee? No entrance fee for coffee shop, weaving studio and petting zoo.
Refreshments Hot & Cold beverages, cake, pies and toasted sandwiches.
What we offer: Interact with the alpacas in the petting zoo and watch our weavers process the soft alpaca fleece into luxurious products.
Enjoy our decadent cakes and a cup of freshly brewed coffee while taking in the views of the alpaca herd , the dromedaries and Table Mountain in the distance.
Alpaca Barn Tours take place hourly on National Alpaca Day and we invite you to meet the resident alpaca herd including our youngest crias and to learn more about the alpacas , their fiber and the processing from fiber to fabric.
(Cost R80 per adult, R60 for pensioners & students, R50 for children, kids under 3 are free)
At The Alpaca Loom we produce a range of woven scarves , shawls , ponchos and blankets using the beautiful range of natural colours that our alpacas grow . Additionally there is a selection of exquisite hand-knitted mittens, beanies and jerseys available as well as a variety of alpaca yarns.
Or simply sit back and relax while your kids use up all that pent-up energy on the jungle gym.
